The decision to launch a Hospital Command Center is a major decision. It’s the start of a long-term journey that impacts health system employees―from executives, physicians, and nurses to patient transporters, environmental services, case management, and other support staff.  The outcomes make it all worth it―including improved hospital efficiency, increased revenue, and enhanced patient safety and satisfaction.

And the best way to share these outcomes is through our amazing clients who continue to evangelize #nopatientwaits. Here are the Hospital Command Center stories that you need to know more about.

We’ll start with the “Class of 2019” health systems that are off to a strong start and in different stages of their journey:

Kettering Health Network | Dayton, OH

  • The very first of its kind in Ohio, Kettering Health Network opened a state-of-the-art Network Operations Command Center in January. The nearly 17,000-square-foot, NASA-like operational command center is making it possible for caregivers to deliver compassionate, efficient care to patients by getting them to the most appropriate level of care, in the least amount of time.  John Weimer, vice president of the network's Emergency, Trauma & Operations Command Center sat down with the Dayton Business Journal for a Q&A on their journey to improved hospital efficiency. Early results include an increase in new patient volume, a significant reduction in EVS turn times, a 30% decrease in ICU patient length of stay and significantly reduced ED hold hours.

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital | Albany, GA

  • Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital went from not having system-wide transparency to seeing a significant decrease in diversion hours [from 622 hours in January 2018 to 98 hours in January 2019], pending patient discharge compliance [up to 48% in the first month], along with a significant decrease in EVS response times [down from 40 minutes to 24 minutes in the first month]—just a few months after going live with TeleTracking. Watch their inspiring journey and how they’re improving hospital efficiency and the quality of their care―which is resulting in better overall patient experiences.

And let’s not forget about “The Class of 2018”!

Broward Health’s Patient Logistics Center is removing barriers, improving hospital efficiency and unlocking the unused capacity to improve access to care for their community.  Initial results include decreased wait times for placement from the emergency department, faster physician response times to pages, as well as environmental services turn-around times dropping below the industry best practice of 60 minutes.  Learn more about how an operational Command Center powers shared situational awareness and real-time data.
