TeleTracking’s 11th Annual Client Conference, October 13-16, 2013, will feature Dr. Arthur Kellermann, MD, one of the nation’s leading public health and emergency medicine researchers.

This year’s conference will highlight the importance of deploying Real-Time Capacity Management™ solutions to drive efficient care delivery and eliminate waste in healthcare.

Dr. Kellermann, who holds the Paul O’Neill Alcoa Chair in Policy Analysis at RAND, will present findings of a research study regarding the impact of implementing an automated capacity management platform in a major healthcare system, and its potential to address the goals of the Affordable Care Act.

His research at RAND focuses on health care spending, high-value innovation, public policy and emergency services.

Formerly, he was professor and associate dean for health policy at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta.  At Emory, he founded the University’s Department of Emergency Medicine and established the Center for Injury Control at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health.

A member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies, Kellermann co-chaired the Institute of Medicine’s Committee on the Consequences of Un-insurance. He also played key roles on the Institute’s Committee on the Future of Emergency Care in the U.S. Health System and its Committee on the Effectiveness of National Biosurveillance Systems: BioWatch and the Public Health System.

As a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow (2006–07), Kellermann worked for the professional staff of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, U.S. House of Representatives. A clinician and researcher, he practiced and taught emergency medicine for more than 25 years in public teaching hospitals in Seattle, Washington; Memphis, Tennessee; and Atlanta, Georgia.

Other speakers will include entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Strickland, and Fred Bayon, a managing director and the national spokesperson for the Advisory Board Company.
