Transformation, Evolution, Revolution – from Patient Flow to Real-Time Capacity Management and Beyond are the themes for optimizing hospital operations to be explored at this year’s annual TeleTracking Client Conference at Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego October 13-16.

We have a full agenda in store with some exciting surprises as well:

TeleTracking President Michael Gallup will open the three-day event by discussing how hospitals can achieve the financial health they need to deliver both quality care and access to that care.  In “Redesigning the Logistics of Care Delivery,” Mr. Gallup will discuss how Time and Resources, two of the biggest sources of waste in healthcare, can also be the drivers of revenue and cost savings.

He’ll explore the history of TeleTracking and how the solutions we created over 20 years ago led to a Transformation in hospital patient flow management. He’ll discuss our more recent market Evolution to enterprise Real-time Capacity Management and unveil the coming Revolution in managing all of the underlying operational systems and workflows that govern care delivery within today’s hospitals and health systems.

cta-fred-bayonKey presentations will follow from Fred Bayon, Managing Director, The Advisory Board Company, who will offer an optimistic outlook on something he calls “productive” growth.  “Productive” growth comes from earning market share by attracting empowered consumers, according to Mr. Bayon. Hospitals will get bigger by becoming better and reaping the rewards of that superior performance in a competitive marketplace.

Consultants from the RAND Corporation will discuss unlocking latent hospital capacity to generate significant revenue and increase access.  The results of a RAND Corporation case study on the revenue benefits of improved capacity management will be viewed for the first time at the conference.

cta-robert-rudinRobert Rudin, Ph.D., Associate Policy Researcher, will discuss how Methodist Healthcare System of San Antonio was able to generate an additional $150 million in revenue by driving out inefficiency and providing better transfer service to patients in rural southwest Texas.  Titled “Change Management to Address Operational Improvement in Healthcare Systems,” the presentation will reveal how Methodist’s decision to make patient flow its top priority paid off for the system and how many of the lessons they learned can be applied to other hospitals and health systems.

An Open Integration Discussion will give attendees the opportunity to ask technical questions, share experiences and ideas for improved interoperability between TeleTracking and other systems, especially Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The session is ideal for anyone whose institution recently added EMR/CPOE solutions, are considering how to integrate the best of EMR’s clinical record functionality with TeleTracking operational solutions and/or have a unique story or challenge they would like to share.

The event also includes a panel discussion on “Strategies of High Performing Hospitals,” featuring representatives from Texas Health Resources, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Regional Health and Methodist Healthcare System.

Former Joint Commission executive Nanne Finis, now TeleTracking’s Vice President of Consulting Services, will address improving operational efficiency as an enduring process, while Rusty Rooms, Director of Avanti Consulting, will preview the new Avanti Advantage Program. With Avanti Advantage, Rusty will explain how TeleTracking consultants, all clinicians  or specialists with expertise in patient care and flow redesign, surgical services workflow and hospital asset management, provide operational direction and best practice coaching on operational performance improvement.  TeleTracking’s Avanti Consulting Services put people and process and the forefront to enable the actions necessary to optimize performance and to support the desired outcomes that lead to continuous and sustained operational improvement.

cta-bill-stricklandThis promises to be one of the best client conferences ever convened by TeleTracking with more surprises in store – including a motivating closing keynote and book signing by Bill Strickland, renowned community leader, author of “Make the Impossible Possible“, and the President and CEO of the non-profit Manchester Bidwell Corporation.  In Make the Impossible Possible, Bill Strickland shows how each of us, by adopting the attitudes and beliefs he has lived by every day, can reach our fullest potential and achieve the impossible in our lives and careers–and perhaps change the world a little in the process.

TeleTracking’s 11th annual Client Conference is an ideal venue for anyone looking to improve care delivery, support the bottom line and assure your operational performance improvement strategies achieve best practice goals.  You’ll get new ideas from peers and industry experts, as well as tips and tactics with proven results developed in cooperation with clients just like you.  And we even have a few “tricks” up our sleeve (hint, hint: more surprises), but you’ll have to attend to find out more!
