Automating and managing hospital bed turns just got easier with the integration of TeleTracking and Smart Facility Software’senvironmental services (EVS) solutions.

If you’re attending the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) annual conference next week in Grapevine, TX, be sure to visit TeleTracking booth #723 to learn more about the improvements to its solutions.

It’s been almost 25 years since TeleTracking first took on – and revolutionized – hospital bed turnover with its BedTracking® application.  Now known as the gold standard for automated bed turnover solutions, TeleTracking has expanded its scope and has been the leader of patient flow automation solutions for the healthcare industry serving more than 900 hospitals throughout the U.S., Canada and U.K.

Although TeleTracking’s BedTracking® solution is effective in the automation of turning beds of patients that have been discharged, hospitals continue to deal with the challenges created by the housekeeping department’s myriad of responsibilities.

So what’s the answer?  Collaboration.  By partnering with Smart Facility Software, TeleTracking can now offer an integrated environmental services solution.

So what does this integrated platform do?  Smart Facility Software provides robust scheduling capabilities for a hospital housekeeping staff’s daily and routine cleaning activities.  By taking the strongest capabilities of TeleTracking’s BedTracking® solution, and combining it with Smart Facility Software’s Census Based Scheduling (CBS), the companies’ integrated solution now lets hospital employees use census data to calculate employee work load quotas and generate benefits.  For example,

  • comprehensive work load capacity is automatically calculated so housekeeping receives balanced assignments for both daily and discharge cleans.
  • combined workload is automatically adjusted to maximize capacity as conditions evolve— enabling staff to achieve both discharge cleaning and daily cleaning goals.
  • additional dirty beds are redirected to an available employee once that employee’s dirty bed quota has been met, or, alternatively, a supervisor is notified.

Right now there are hundreds of hospitals using both systems and those facilities will reap the benefits of the integration and information sharing.  Hospitals that are using TeleTracking’s BedTracking® application version 3.2 and Smart Facility Software’s cloud based version of CBS can take advantage of this integration.
