As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, hospitals have several options to enhance capacity to make room for more patients. The below points are also key features of TeleTracking’s integrated technology platform and have been for decades.

• Make the discharge process faster and less complicated so patients can leave the hospital as soon as it is safe, freeing up beds for incoming patients.

• Add an isolation precaution such as COVID-19 to flag infected, or potentially infected patients.

• Exercise precision patient placement so that COVID-19 patients are placed in the right bed the first time, protecting both healthcare workers and other patients from exposure.

• Block beds up to one-hour post-discharge of a COVID-19 patient (prior to Environmental Services entering the room) per CDC recommendations.

• If plans for alternative care sites need to be implemented, the technology to track and monitor these patients can be extended.
